whew!

mucho macho thanks to everyone who attended the shows at Tonic Room and Q4/Multi Kulti. it certainly was great dusting off the cobwebs, especially with our new addition, guitarist Noam Wallenberg, on board. rockin' like a hurricane.

we bid a loving farewell and safe travels to our bassist Nicholas Morford at the Tonic Room gig Tuesday night, May 10th. last night, May 19th, at Q4/Multi Kulti we were graced by the presence of bassist/newEST addition to the band, Mike Ruby.

so, if you see him on the streets, passing by, wherever and whenever, be sure to give him a high-five. because he jumped on the LEE train swiftly and smooth as ever for our set last night. great to have Mr. Ruby on board!

LEE would also like to shake hands/high-five/do the hustle with Alex Cain, Alex Marianyi, and Ben Joseph of Second Balcony Records. nothing like teamwork for the sake of music!! also, super huge shout-out to photographer Ryan Cain for capturing some great moments last night at the show. he knows!

starting next Wednesday, it's back to Rax Trax Studios with guitarist Noam Wallenberg Awesome-Face. maybe some fun videos to come! in HD! Ooooooooh fancy new camera! yeeeeeeaaaaaaah!!

good things, people! good things! and we seriously could NOT be doing any of this without your growing love and support. stay tuned!

Mama

mama, what did they do to you?
mama, tell me what you're going through
mama, i know that you're hurting
'cause
mama
when you hurt
my world is hurting, too
mama

mama, why are you still crying?
mama, what is it your hiding?
mama, we know that you're hurting
'cause
mama
when you hurt
we're hurting just as well
mama

just as well
mama
there is heaven after hell

and it hurts right here
it hurts right here
it hurts right here

take my hand
stay with me
there is so much more to be
take my hand
stay with me
someday, we will all be free..

and it hurts right here
it hurts right here
my dear mama.

re-construction

after some musical inventory and reconstruction,
LEE are welcoming new guitarist Noam Wallenberg into the family.

lovers and haters of sorts,
the delays have been abrupt and almost too constant,
but rest assured: our first full length album
"Home"
will be available for hungry ears, hearts, and mouths (if that's how you want to consume the sound, be our guests)
Summer of 2011.

as guaranteed by LEE and producer Rick Barnes at Rax Trax Studios, Chicago.

with that
we say.....

LET'S DO THIS!

LONG LIVE LEE

I Once Was Blind

struggling to forget the words that you said to me
when i first laid eyes on you
i never meant to disturb the peace inside of your mind
or your heart and soul
but is it really soft and sweet,
or are you scared?
well, maybe you were unprepared, but
please, before i go,
i'd like to know
do you remember when you said to me:

"i
can't
be
lieve
what
i
have
seen,
and
i
won't fail ya now!"

?

could've sworn i was misled, but i was just mistaken
when i last laid eyes on you
and what i don't understand is when you held my hand,
what about it didn't feel right?

NO!
NOT AGAIN!
well, now i've lost another friend!
it's SO unfair!
you could say i was unprepared, oh...

"nah-nah nah, nah naaaaah nah!
you know i'd never fool ya!"

you said to me...

well, i was blind as blind could be! now,

i
can't
be
lieve
what
i
have
seen, and
i
won't fail me now!

no, i
can't believe
what
these
two
eyes have seen, and
i won't fail me now...

no, not now!

Funny

it's funny how often we're chasing our tails
we're back where we started from
we keep going, and going, and going until
we forget the meaning of done
it's funny how often i'm taking that step
the same one that makes me fall
has me slipping and sliding, tumbling
in a downward spiral

it's funny how often i dream of you now
that you're not in bed with me
and it's funny how often i'm hearing your voice
now that we no longer speak
and oh, how hilarious it is when i
see people we used to befriend!
well, they're either with me
or they're hangin' with you, oh,
the cycle, it never ends

oh, it's funny
oh, how strange
oh, it's funny to say goodbye

it's funny now that i woke up from that dream
awake: i'm back at square one
and it's funny, now that i let go of that plan,
my future has come undone
and it's funny, your features look sharper to me
you smell just like when we first met
oh, it's funny, it's funny,
it's frightening to me
i fear that i'm gonna forget..

lord, i know that i'm gonna...

oh, it's funny
oh, it's so god damn strange...
oh, it's funny to say goodbye.

the feeding fist

i've come to realize that you are never wrong
with the attention that you get you're getting strong
and that's O.K. by me, i do not mean you harm
but you should understand, i see right through the charm

i could go write a poem or set my bra on fire
but i'll just bring the fuel that shoots the flames up higher
to watch them twirl and dance, majestic and so bright
and hear the cyotes sing a song out to the night

it doesn't matter what you say!
you're going to eat the bread i bake!
it doesn't matter what you say!
you're dancing to the music that we make.

(naaaah nah-nah naaaah nah!)

so, enough of wondering why you wanna make me feel so small
'cause with every passing day, i keep on growing tall
you bite the hand that feeds, but my heart keeps on pumping
the moment i bite back, your life will be a fucking nightmare!

it doesn't matter what you say!
you're going to eat the bread i bake!
it doesn't matter what you say!
you're dancing to the...

the music...

it doesn't matter!
you're only dancing.

we still exist

and we have things coming up here in 2011. finally!

February 20th we'll be collaborating with videographer Jack Lawrence Mayer for a project of his called LIVING ROOM SONGS. LEE will be filmed in an "intimate" setting (aka Mat's livingroom) for a small set of songs from our upcoming album. the performance means to evoke an up-close and personal experience of/with the band and the environment(s) in which we tend to create. we're so stoked about this! it's going to be an awesome time.

here's the project website:

http://livingroomsongs.com

Mr. Mayer's already filmed a few other bands/musicians and the results are fantastic! go check it out, will you?

also, we have a show lined up! OMGASHOW

Friday, February 11

FIRST LEE SHOW OF 2011. YESSSSSSS

one more thing, check out this wonderful fine artist named Anna Todaro:

http://annatodaro.com

i ran into her booth at a folk art circuit held at Reggie's Rock Club on Saturday afternoon. her work caught my eye and wouldn't let it go and i just love it. organic, creative, unique, and beautiful! all of those words sum up her artistic creations, and then some.

oh, and meanwhile, LEE are still trudging through the january city slush at Rax Trax Studios. slowly, but surely getting this album done! patience, my brothers, my sisters. patience.

we shan't lose direction. we shan't lose focus.

so, check out Jack Mayer (http://livingroomsongs.com), Anna Todaro (http://annatodaro.com), and come to our U.S. Beer Co. show February 11th! Friday night = no reason to miss out!
